Kamchatka bassist/vocalist Per Wiberg’s Top 5 Swedish Hard Rock/Metal bands

Posted by on February 17, 2014

KamchatkaMany likely know Per Wiberg best for his work with Opeth and Spiritual Beggars. Lately, though, Wiberg has been providing bass and vocals to Swedish powerhouse trio Kamchatka. Their new album The Search Goes On (coming out on February 19 via Despotz Records) is pure heavy rock with a massive old-school blues kick to it. It’s the type of music that further validates Sweden as an excellent source for rock talent. With that in mind, we asked Wiberg to name five other hard rock and metal bands currently making Sweden proud. Click on the page numbers below Wiberg’s intro to see his picks.

Sweden’s actually got quite a few really influential bands in metal/hard rock history (Bathory, Yngwie Malmsteen, Candlemass, Entombed, At The Gates, etc.) and here are a few currently active bands I really like.
