Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Plague Weaver vocalist JC as he’s been spending this time playing a lot of video games.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Music, and lots of video games. Staying connected with friends and peers while playing a game together has been a great experience during isolation.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’ve recently been diving into Tomb Mold’s newest album – it is absolutely astounding, and any DM-head should listen.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Sticking to the basics I can handle – Pasta, hm.. oh wait, that’s it.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’ve been watching and re-watching horror movies, mostly. I recently watched a remake of Cronenberg’s ‘Rabid’, directed by Jen and Silvia Soska (American Mary, Hellevator) – two excellent Canadian horror directors. I’ve been a fan of theirs for a while, and this 2019 remake was really exciting to watch.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Try to remain focused. It’s easy to lose track of progress when everything around you has turned sour. Isolation can be a great opportunity for personal growth and creative exploration. Oftentimes, the only obstacle is will.
