Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Immortal Guardian’s Gabriel Guardian as he’s been spending this time writing their brand new album, Psychosomatic (pre-order here).

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

We wrote an entire new album about the pandemic during the pandemic titled Psychosomatic. The moment our North American tour with PowerGlove and others got cancelled due to covid lockdowns, we realized the best use of our time was to make an album as a creative response to the current state of the world. This concept album focuses on the experiences and emotions we all felt in 2020.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Honestly we have been just stuck in the studio writing, recording, filming the same 10 tracks over and over again, creating tons of new content for yall! But the homies in Helion Prime did drop a pretty badass album in 2020 titled Question Everything. Check it out if you’re a fan of power metal.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I just kept eating the same things I always do ha. We were so focused on this record that I didn’t get to really spend any extra time in the kitchen. Breakfast tacos, lunch burritos, and dinner nachos it is!

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I have been hopping into a few shows like Mandalorian and Money Heist. Awesome stuff! I usually only watch TV/movies every other day when I’m about to go to bed or eat so i don’t watch a whole lot to begin with. I mainly just love to jam my guitar and keyboard and continuously find something fun and challenging to write or learn in my free time.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Stay positive. Call your friends/family, check up on them. Spread love and stay productive! It’s so easy to look at all the wrong things happening right now, but there is so much good happening in the world too. We will be out of this mess sooner than later. Hope to see you soon, and safely on the road! \m/
