More details about Metallica and Lou Reed’s collaboration have been slowly revealed since their website’s launch. We know that their album Lulu will feature songs Reed wrote for a theatrical production of stories by the German author Frank Wedekind. We also know that the album will be released via Warner Bros. on November 1 in North America (one day earlier everywhere else) and was produced by Reed’s frequent collaborator Hal Willner along with Metallica and Reed.

And now we know what Lulu’s cover will look like. You can take a look at the artwork for yourself above. Both Metallica and Reed have previously said that this project is unlike anything either have done. One look at the cover, though, confirms that this is not your average Metallica record.

At the moment, the only appearance Loutallica have confirmed is the BBC’s Later With Jools Holland on November 8 and 11. Though we still haven’t heard any material off of Lulu yet, a handful of song titles have been revealed and include the following:

-“Frustration”

-“Junior Dad” (side note: apparently the lyrics to this song actually brought both James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett to tears).

-“Little Dog”

-“Mistress Dread”

-“Pumping Blood”

One thing is for sure, though, Lulu is definitely not going to sound like this.
