Scrolling through our newsfeed, we couldn’t help but notice that former drummer for prog-rockers The Mars Volta, Thomas Pridgen, is calling out another former drummer of the band, Dave Elitch. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, Pridgen said to his followers:
So you got a dude (Dave Elitch) calling people you work for trying to slander you and another one of your friends name do you find him and confront him or let it go and laugh at his pathetic ways?
Very interesting, to say the least. Pridgen’s departure from the blistering mind-jam that was (is?) The Mars Volta was sudden and very rocky, so one could expect that there would be a little bit of bad blood. He also took made several posts on his official Twitter account that touch on his beef with Elitch.
The Mars Volta’s core contributors, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, have moved on to form a new project, Antemasque, with Flea and the alleged reverence and background-checker-turned-drummer Dave Elitch. Thomas Pridgen is currently on tour with Suicidal Tendencies in South America, and was recently announced that he’s an official member of the band, so it doesn’t look like we’ll see a drum battle anytime soon… or will we?
What’s your favorite album featuring Dave elitch ? Never heard him on a record just wondering
