In 2014, Alternative Press, the Cleveland music magazine celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, held their first annual music awards show. You’re forgiven if you don’t remember, given that AP is targeted more towards emo and screamo than metal and hardcore. But with former Revolver Golden Gods Awards founder Josh Bernstein at the magazine now, they’ve been trying to replicate Revolver‘s awards show. As you may have already seen, Corey Taylor got onstage with Halestorm to perform a Temple of the Dog cover. In other collaborations, DMC of Run DMC joined Sum 41 onstage for a cover of the hip hop trio’s “King of Rock.” and Rob Zombie joined Motionless in White for their take on White Zombie’s Thunderkiss ’65.” Oh yeah, and some people won stuff too, many of them bands you might not have heard of before.
