soadpicLast night (17), System of a Down played the second of two American dates of their leg of ‘Wake up the Souls’ tour at Detroit’s DTE Energy Music Theatre. The tour, which is being done to raide awareness of the Armenian genocide on its 100th anniversary, is only 14 shows long. The band brought along Melvins and Le Butcherettes for the show, and Metal Insider contributor Melinda Oswandel was on hand to document the show for us. The band’s 90-minute set didn’t deviate too much from the shows they’ve been playing, but earlier this year, bassist Shavo O’Dadjian said in an interview that the band have written new music, so it could just be a matter of time before we do hear some new stuff from the band. In the meantime, here’s how things looked last night.
