Even though Slayer vocalist and bassist Tom Araya told Revolver Magazine that, “there is one track on (the new album) that we recorded with (Jeff Hanneman),” guitarist Kerry King is denying that statement, and blaming the spread of “bullshit” on the media.

Said King, in an interview with LoudWire:

“Jeff Hanneman isn’t physically playing on this record. Somebody reported some bullshit. People say shit when they don’t know what’s actually going on.”

The original quote comes from the April/May 2015 issue of Revolver, where Araya says the recording of the track started three years ago (before Hanneman passed away in 2013) and, “was completely done except we hadn’t finalized the vocals for it.” According to King that is false.

Slayer’s new album is done, their first new album since 2009’s World Painted Blood, but sadly will be the band’s first without Hanneman. Araya said Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, “shredded some leads on quite a few songs,” on the new album, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation from King to see if that’s true or not.
