So the new drummer of AC/DC might be… the old drummer of AC/DC.  With the band set to make their first live appearance in support of Rock or Bust on Sunday at the Grammys, they still haven’t made an announcement about who their drummer is. Phil Rudd, of course, played on the album, but has had some legal trouble in the past few months. And while he’s determined to return to the band, there’s been no official word on whether he’s in the band or now. Which brings us to Chris Slade.

Slade played in AC/DC from 1989 to 1994 on The Razor’s Edge. While it might make sense that he return to the band, the rumor started at the most unlikely of places – an optometrist’s office! Slade was set to make an appearance at the eye doctor’s office, which should tell you how his life’s been going lately. However, the California optometrist’s office postponed the event last week.

Further down the post, Dr. Liu stated “there’s actually big news regarding Slade and his career coming in next several days which is why he had to reschedule this event.” While it’s really bizarre that this would be the source of the news, looking at the practice’s Facebook page, it looks like they have lots of guest appearances from celebrities. And hey, if the rescheduled meet and greet turns from “former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade” to “current AC/DC drummer Chris Slade,” Dr. Liu could move a lot of eyeglasses.
