If you’re headed to the Taking Back Sunday/Menzingers/letlive. show at the House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, FL on April 3rd, you might notice there’s one less band playing. That’s because letlive. has become the latest band to be banned from the venue, presumably by Disney. The band wrote about it on their Facebook page:
Ladies and Gentlemen that were planning on attending the Lake Buena Vista, Florida date at the House Of Blues on the upcoming tour with Taking Back Sunday and The Menzingers and expecting to see ll.- due to reasons we cannot control, we will not be permitted to play said date. We have just been notified by the people at Disney Orlando/HOB that we have been pulled from the event. We cannot offer any details as to why since we were given none ourselves. Rumor has it that Goofy, Pluto, and most of Toontown were in protest against the decision, but Chairman Mouse exercised veto powers and struck down the proposition in the end. In the meantime, we will be trying to set up a one off at another venue in place of the this. Thank you so much for the unwavering support. It’s moments like these we deeply appreciate it/you.
Yours,
ll.
The band are the latest in a series of bands that have been asked not to play there. Machine Head was one, and they came up with a brilliant T-shirt design as a result of it. Skeletonwitch and Exodus are also among the bands that have been forbid to play at the venue. While the other bands’ lyrical content is presumably the reason for the ban from the happiest place on earth, letlive’s reputation of having a high energy live show likely is the reason, even though they haven’t given an official reason. We’d rather see letlive. than the other two bands, so if anyone in the Orlando area feels the same way we do, they might make out in the long run.
