This is no knock against All That Remains, but their last album, A War You Cannot Win, wasn’t their best album. And hey, we’re not the only ones that think so. Frontman Phil Labonte admitted in an interview that he thought the album “sucked.” The album still did fine, but it was far cry from their metalcore past. On Friday, the band posted a song from their forthcoming album, due out next year, called “No Knock.” There’s no autotune to be found on this song, which is driven by a sludgy riff, and Labonte’s screamed and not sung vocals. It sounds a bit like Pantera, actually. Labonte posted “Don’t worry. The whole record isn’t like that,” on his Facebook page, so there may be some autotune yet.
“No Knock” will be available via Amazon on November 24th, and Labonte says to expect to hear another song from the still-untitled album before its release, which is expected early next year. The album, their seventh, was produced by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Gojira).
Everyone in ATR is wicked excited about this disc and can’t wait for you guys to hear it. I believe you’ll get another taste in a few weeks. Maybe after the first of the year.
