It’s been a far too long four years since the German power metallers Blind Guardian released their last album, At the Edge of Time, but there is good news and I am its shepherd. Not too long from now, they will be releasing their 10th studio release, titled Beyond the Red Mirror, which is due for release in Europe on January 30th, 2015, and February 3 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.
Beyond the Red Mirror was recorded at Twilight Hall Studio in Grefath, Germany and was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (Saxon, Hammerfall, Helloween), and features over 200 individual musicians in the form of choirs from all over: one from the Czech Republic (Prague), one from Hungary (Budapest), and one from the United States (Boston).
“The story begins with our 1995 album, Imaginations from the Other Side. The two worlds described therein have changed dramatically for the worse since then. While there used to be several passages between the worlds, there is only one gate left now: The Red Mirror. It has to be found at any cost.” – Singer/lyricist Hansi Kürsch
The album is not yet available for pre-order in the US, but is in Europe here.
