A few days ago, the metal blogosphere wrote about Extinction Level Event, a band that’s decided to ditch the guitars, and instead has three five string bassists along with drums and vocals. The band’s only song at the time, “Destroyer,” got plenty of ink, with it’s Meshuggah-like grooves. It’s only been five days since they put that song up, but they’ve already released a follow-up. The North Carolina band up the ante with “Entropy,” which is even more Meshuggah-like, but without those pesky guitars. This could easily land in Korn-territory in the wrong hands, but ELE manage to make three five string basses sound cool.
