On Monday, we heard “The Way He Looks At Me,” the first helping of music from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ reteaming with director David Fincher for the Gone Girl soundtrack, which will be released digitally this coming Tuesday (30) in advance of the film’s release on October 3. Yesterday, via the soundtrack’s Soundcloud page, three additional pieces were released. Fincher said he was inspired by a visit to a spa to instruct Reznor and Ross to write the soundtrack. And while the first track was unsettling, the other three do sound a little more relaxing. We could picture ourselves getting rubbed to this music. Wait, that sounds kinda weird – but we stand by it. The tracks still have plenty of tension in them, but are more serene than “The Way He Looks At Me.” A vinyl release of the soundtrack will be coming later in the year.
