Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe was a guest on the Jamey Jasta Show podcast, and the two spoke at length about the the legalities, the lawsuits, and the safety issues of playing shows in front of massive audiences. Towards the end of the episode, Blythe opened up about his overseas arrest, and how it was bound to happen:
“It was going to happen eventually. I caught the bullet, it was going to happen to you (Jamey Jasta), it was going to happen to the dude from Biohazard. Someone, it was going to happen to happen to somebody. I happened to catch the bullet.”
Blythe spoke a bit about the show where the fan died, and went on to say that security and a barricade were “nonexistent.”
“If I could go back in time, the thing I would do different is I would have stopped the fucking show. But it was our first time there, we didn’t know what was going to happen if we stopped the show.”
Randy Blythe was arrested in June of 2012, charged with the death of a fan from a 2010 show in Prague. He was acquitted of those charges in March of 2013.
