KENMODEWhile Canadian noise/punk band KEN Mode’s last album, Entrench, came out just last year, the band are already working on new music. They’ve been playing a new song, “Blessed,” on tour recently, and just recently put up a high quality video of the song from their hometown headlining show at the Windsor in Winnipeg on July 25th. The song is sparse and bass-driven, and more like Jesus Lizard than anything off of Entrench or Venerable. Here’s what the band said about it on their Facebook page, while also stating that info on their sixth album, which will be recorded in November, is coming soon:

So, we’ve been playing a new song live. It’s called “Blessed”, and will be on our new record that we are recording in November (which we’ll be releasing details on soon). Our pal Dylan Baillie filmed and edited this from our show in Winnipeg a little over a week ago. Enjoy.

Entrench was released in March of 2013, so they could be on track to release the new album almost two years to the day. It’ll be interesting to see if the rest of the album takes the approach they took on “Blessed.”
