You’ve already heard a snippet of “Dragonaut,” the song that kicks off Judas Priest’s Redeemer of Souls. Now Rolling Stone has premiered the whole song. It’s a pretty straightforward song, which means that it could fit in at pretty much any era of classic Judas Priest (basically, right around the Defenders of the Faith/British Steel era). It’s shredding guitar solo is unmistakably Priest, even without K.K. Downing. New guitarist Richie Faulkner calls it “rip roaring,” and who are we to argue? It sounds like the band’s gone back to basics and made a modern day classic, which means no pretentious double album like Nostradamus.

We’ll find out for sure when the album comes out on July 8th.
