DragonForce Maximum Overload

Well this is very timely. We defended DragonForce last week on In Defense of Their Good Name, and now the band has announced a new album and label switch. The sixth DragonForce LP will be titled Maximum Overload and will be the bands first release on Metal Blade Records.

Guitarist Herman Li commented on the inspiration for the title:

“The album title and album cover artwork is inspired by the constant bombardment of information we are subjected to during our daily lives. We were in an airport departure lounge surrounded by TV screens, flight information screens and advertising screens. We then looked around and no one was saying a word, they were all looking at more screens on tablets, laptops and mobile phones. There’s no escaping it; it’s complete information overload!”

Two interesting facts about this album are that 1) Matt Heafy of Trivium will be a guest on a few songs, and 2) the band will cover…”Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash? However you feel about DragonForce, you know you want to hear how that sounds. Maximum Overload will be out on August 19, but you can hear a demo track below titled “Defenders”, which features Matt Heafy.
