This year, a soulful 65 year old reinvigorated Black Sabbath. Of course you probably think we’re talking about Ozzy Osbourne, and while 13 was one hell of a comeback, that’s not who we’re referring to. Charles Bradley didn’t get his official start in music until he was in his late ’40s, performing as a James Brown impersonator. His first album, No Time For Dreaming, wasn’t released until 2011, and his second one came out earlier this year. For this year’s Record Store Day, Daptone released his cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” and it’s pretty much the best cover of the song we’ve heard. Share this with a friend, and catch him on tour starting later this month.
