Oleson is second from left

While Modern Life is War just released, Fever Hunting, their first album in six years, this past Tuesday. However, any publicity that album is getting pales in comparison to that of their drummer, Tyler Oleson, who was tased and arrested after a police chase on Saturday. It all started when the hardcore drummer pulled alongside a patrol car and did the responsible thing, which was flip the officer the bird. The officer ignored Oleson, who then stayed next to the car and tried to run it off the road, Marshalltown, Iowa police sergeant Melinda Ruopp told the Des Moines Register.

The officer then pursued Oleson, who slammed on his brakes, making the car avoid a collision. The drummer slammed on his brakes again, causing another police car to hit Oleson’s car about 2 miles from where the chase first began. Oleson got out of his car and took off, but got tased and captured. He was charged with alluding criminal mischief in the second degree for slamming on his braked, aggravated assault for trying to run the officer off the road, and OWI (operating while intoxicated),

Yesterday, the band issued a statement via their Facebook page:

Some of you may have heard news today regarding a member of our band today. Bottom line is that he is our friend first and foremost and we will support him. Our upcoming shows will happen as planned unless you hear otherwise from us.

Guess Modern Life is War might wanna consider covering some N.W.A. if and when Oleson gets out of jail.
