The Philip H. Anselmo “Technicians of Distortion” tour isn’t even two days old yet, and it’s already becoming one for the ages. It started out with a surprise show the day before the tour kicked off. And last night, the first night of the tour, Anselmo helped make a child’s dream come true. During the Tulsa show, a young metal fan named Peyton came up onstage to play the Pantera classic “Walk” with Anselmo and his backing band, the Illegals. It was done via the Make-A-Wish foundation, an organization that grants wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. The kid has a solid sense of rhythm, and was able to hang with the band, while realizing a dream of his. Even Anselmo seemed overcome, stating via his Instagram account:
Making Peyton’s wish come true! He wanted to play “Walk”! He’s a really great player & an awesome kid….#makeawishfoundation
Check out the video below, and if you’re interested in seeing Anselmo (sans Peyton), here are the remaining dates of the tour.
