During his new bail hearing in regards to his arrest for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife, Tim Lambesis’ bail was lowered to $2 million. While his attorney claimed the bail was still too high, it now appears that the As I Lay Dying singer is no longer in custody.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department reportedly sent an email alert stating that Lambesis was released as of 6:34pm eastern time last evening (May 30). Metal Injection further called the San Diego County Jail and an operator supposedly confirmed that the frontman was released on bond after searching their internal system (though Alt Press claims that the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department denied to provide any comment).
Though Lambesis’ previous legal defense initially attempted to spin the case as a “set up,” the recent hearing found him shifting blame to steroid abuse altering his state of mind. Lambesis had been ordered to wear a GPS bracelet in the event he made bail. He was also told could not leave San Diego unless he was visiting his lawyer and had to stay away from his wife and children. While details are still emerging regarding his release, Lambesis is due in court again on June 10.
