This year’s lineup for Coachella has been announced, and if you’re a fan of Britrock, you’re probably already allotting money to get tickets and airfare to the festival. Between The Stone Roses, Blur, Johnny Marr, those bases are covered. With acts like Lumineers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wu-Tang Clan, Social Distortion and The Postal Service playing, they’ve got some pretty mainstream acts playing as well. But the festival, taking place in Indio CA from April 12-14 and April 19-21, always manages to sneak a few heavier-leaning acts in among the 150 or so acts playing, and this year is no exception.

Ghost, Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels and Puscifer will be appearing at Coachella this year. While some in the metal community have seen Ghost on tour with Mastodon and Opeth, or perhaps at last year’s Orion Fest, this will be the first time they’ll be playing in front of an indie rock audience. It will also be the first-ever live performance from How to Destroy Angels. The band’s full-length debut should be out by then, and their moody electronic music should go over well in the desert.

Want to go to Coachella this year? Good luck. Tickets went on sale last May, and without a single act being announced, sold out in four hours. Some more passes will go on sale this coming Tuesday, January 29. There are also some travel packages available, but they’re not cheap.
