San Francisco’s favorite, and probably only, cello-driven sludge metal trio has been hard at work on a pair of epic tunes for their Upcoming EP, Pearl and the End of Days, and Alarm has premiered one of the new tracks, “Pearl.”
Cellist and vocalist Jackie Perez-Gratz wrote the song while pregnant with her daughter, Pearl, and says, ” It’s about fear and excitement of the unknown, unconditional love, and sound waves having all the power.”
The track is playing as I write this and is proving to be very distracting simply because it’s quite good. It’s hands down, my favorite thing they’ve done.
Strap yourself in for the emotional roller coaster of “Pearl” here.
