The metal and touring community is still shocked over the accident that occurred earlier today involving Baroness’ tour bus near Bath, England. Details are still a bit fuzzy (one of the two injured has been identified as the bus driver), but numerous reports on the incident have started to multiple.
First, a spokesperson for Baroness issued the following statement confirming the news:
“Baroness were in a serious bus accident last night near Bath, England. The band members and crew are recovering at local hospitals. All tour dates are postponed until further notice.
More updates to come.”
UK newspaper The Mirror interviewed numerous individuals at the scene of the accident, including Inspector Steve Mildren who said the following:
“We know that there were nine passengers on the coach. They have all been accounted for and there are some injuries and they are receiving medical treatment at hospital. At this time we don’t believe that any of those injuries are life-threatening.”
One thing that all reports (including Yahoo) agree on is that it was raining heavily at the time of the accident. While the inspector says that none of the injuries are expected to be life threatening, it is still unclear as to who the other seriously injured passenger was (along with the bus driver).
Obviously this story is still developing, and we’ll keep you posted as more is revealed. For now, we simply hope that everyone involved in this accident makes out ok. Our thoughts are with the band and their crew.
