Why should major label bands be the only ones who get love? Unsigned & Streamed is a column where we stream a song from an unsigned band we at Metal Insider really dig.

This week we’re putting the spotlight on Denver, CO’s Anchorage. Though they’ve been through their fair share of lineup changes over the years, the group currently boasts a tight five-piece unit. And this past Summer, the band expanded their fan base with the release of their second EP, Truth in Adversity. Since forming in 2008, Anchorage have shared the stage with the likes of Haste The Day, TesseracT, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and many others. Their alternative/ hardcore sound resembles early Between The Buried And Me and Protest The Hero. So without further ado, give the song “Arise, Metropolis,” off of Anchorage’s EP Truth in Adversity, a listen in the stream below.

Anchorage is hoping to tour as much as possible in the upcoming year and are currently in the midst of booking shows. The band has also started to write for their full length album, which they’ll be recording sometime late 2012. Truth in Adversity is available for purchase via iTunes, while you can keep up to date on Anchorage’s upcoming plans via Facebook.

If you’re in an unsigned band and would like to participate in Unsigned & Streamed, email a link to your band’s music and a brief bio to tips [at] metalinsider.com for consideration.
