Yesterday, Every Time I Die revealed that they have parted ways with bassist Josh Newton. Unlike recent band splits, though, Newton appears to have left on good terms with the band.

Every Time I Die posted the following tweet:

“the last 3 weeks have been the most grueling tour we’ve ever done and we have cherished every second. Rock In Peace @jnewton we love you.”

Newton confirmed the news via series of posts on Twitter, including the following tweet:

“thanks to all the @everytimeidie dudes and all who cared. ’twas fun. ch-ch-ch-changes…”

Newton first joined the band in the fall of September 2007, having appeared on 2009’s New Aesthetic Junk. In addition, Newton joined The Damned Things (featuring his ETID band mate Keith Buckley) as their touring bassist. At the moment, it’s currently unclear whether Newton will still appear on the band’s new as yet untitled album (which they performed a new song off of last month). It’s also unclear whether the band has found Newton’s replacement yet, though chances are they will find a new bassist in time for their tour with GWAR (which kicks off next week). Fun trivia fact, though, Newton was ETID’s seventh bassist since forming in 1998.

Update: Singer Keith Buckley has confirmed to Alt Press that former bassist Steve Micciche will be temporarily rejoining the band for their upcoming tour with GWAR. In a separate tweet, guitarist Jordan Buckley confirmed that Newton will still appear on the new as yet untitled album.
