The Exploited frontman Wattie Buchan collapsed during the opening song of the band’s January 31 performance at Schlachthof in Wiesbaden, Germany, prompting immediate medical attention. According to reports shared at the venue, Buchan was responsive and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
In a statement released the following day, Sunday (1st), the band confirmed that upcoming shows in Tallinn and Riga have been canceled while Buchan remains under observation. The vocalist had reportedly been battling the flu and dehydration prior to the incident. Updates regarding the Rostock and Berlin dates will be announced once more information becomes available.
The group issued the following statement via Instagram:
“As Wattie collapsed yesterday during the show in Wiesbaden/Germany, we have to cancel the upcoming gigs in Tallinn & Riga. We try to find new dates ASAP. Rostock and Berlin, we announce as soon as we have more info.
Wattie is in the hospital right now for observation and checkups. He had the flu for the last few days and gets dehydrated. That’s why he collapsed. Thanks and love to all the nice people who took care and immediately gave first aid. We will keep you updated!”
