Katatonia have unveiled a haunting rendition of the KISS 1981 classic, “A World Without Heroes.” Originally featured as a bonus track on the mediabook edition of Katatonia’s latest album, Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, released in June 2025, the cover is now available digitally along with “Wind of No Change – Karin Park Remix.”
The release coincides with the Swedish melancholic metal outfit’s ongoing EU/UK headlining tour with Evergrey and Klogr, which kicked off on Friday (10) in Turku, Finland. Tickets are on sale now. Katatonia will return to North America in early 2026, supporting Opeth while having a string of headlining dates of their own.
Katatonia’s Jonas Renkse comments:
“A final single from the’ Nightmares…’ session, a cover of KISS” A World Without Heroes’ which is one of the songs we usually listen to in the dressing room before going on stage. For us, it now also serves as a memory of Ace Frehley’s legacy. Nico’s rendition of his solo is nothing short of amazing! Also, this release includes Karin Park’s outstanding remix of’ Wind of No Change'”. Enjoy, and come see us in Europe this fall/winter!”
