A lot happened this past weekend for TesseracT. When the UK progressive metal group took the stage in Milton Keynes, UK Saturday night, fans noticed that singer Dan Tompkins was absent. Instead, Sky Eats Airplane’s Elliot Coleman was filling in on vocals. This lead many to question Tompkins’ status in the group.

Well, though an official announcement won’t be made until tomorrow, TesseracT have already acknowledged that Tompkins is no longer in the group. This is what they’ve had to say on the matter:

“Seeing as our previous post about this got lost in the ether, we’ll re-post. Our label and us will make an official announcement about this on TUESDAY. Sorry guys, as it’s so important we have to do these things properly and take our time to make sure our true thoughts and feelings are conveyed correctly. Thank you for all your wonderful messages of support and good will.

Much Love, TesseracT”

Multiple sources are reporting that Tompkins apparently left to join a more pop oriented band. Despite not releasing an official statement yet, the band has changed their Facebook page information to include Coleman’s name (thus confirming that he is indeed their new singer). Fan filmed video of the band performing with Coleman can be seem above.

UPDATE: TesseracT have confirmed that Tompkins has left the band and that Coleman is their new singer.
