Back in 2008, frontman Al Jourgensen constantly reaffirmed that the Cu-U-LaTour North American tour would indeed mark the end of Ministry. So much for keeping that promise, since only 3 years later, Ministry is making a comeback.
The industrial metal kings have already been booked to appear at the Wacken Open Air Festival next Summer. Besides that, though, not much else has been revealed about Ministry’s return. It’s currently unclear as to who will be in the band’s lineup, let alone whether more dates will coincide with this festival appearance. Jourgensen’s first posting on his newly launched Twitter account promised more updates via the band’s Facebook page.
Also already confirmed for the 2012 Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany are Scorpions, Amon Amarth, Cradle Of Filth, Hammerfall, U.D.O., and Gamma Ray. At this point you may be thinking to yourself “Wait, didn’t the Wacken Festival just happen this past weekend?!”Well, yes (and you can read Jon Freeman’s recaps of Day 1 and Day 2 for yourself). So if they’ve already booked these big names, imagine who else they’ll get as we get closer to August 2-4.
