The Capitola Police Department has arrested former Mr.Bungle member Theobald “Theo” Brooks Lengyel in collaboration with the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Attorney’s Office, El Cerrito Police Department, and the Department Of Justice for the killing of his girlfriend, 61-year-old Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani in Capitola, California. Lengyel, 54, was arrested yesterday (2nd) with the assistance of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office after an intensive investigation led by the Capitola Police Department. Kamakaokalani was reported missing on December 3, 2023, prompting an investigation that revealed foul play and ultimately led to the discovery of human remains in a wooded area in Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley. Lengyel has been a person of interest since her disappearance. The identification of the remains is pending DNA confirmation. Lengyel, a founding member of Mr. Bungle, is currently in custody, and the Capitola Police Department will collaborate with the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The investigation is ongoing. Lengyel had spent nearly a decade with Mr. Bungle, playing saxophone, clarinet, and keyboards, and eventually exited the group on bad terms.
