Japanese Samurai metal outfit Ryujin, formerly known as Gyze, have shared a video for their latest single, “Gekokujo.” The track promises to be their heaviest single yet, taken from their upcoming self-titled album out January 12 via Napalm Records. The song is described as a Japanese horror folk metal, giving a taste of Japan’s unique horror while showcasing the darkside of Ryujin.
Frontman/band’s mastermind Ryoji Shinomoto explains:
“In Japanese history, gekokujo refers to the act of a lower-ranking person politically or militarily overthrowing a higher-ranking person, violating the social order, and seizing power. I would say the song is Japanese horror folk metal. The music video also depicts Japan’s unique horror. Enjoy the dark side of RYUJIN too!”
