Back in February, the ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy revealed that one of the numerous new projects he was working on was with Symphony X singer Russell Allen. Five months later, the pair’s collaboration will be making its live debut.
It was confirmed today via Mike Portnoy’s Facebook page that the new project called Adrenaline Mob will be making its live debut on June 24 at The Hiro Ballroom in New York City. It’s also been revealed that joining Portnoy and Allen will be guitarist Mike Orlando, Paul DiLeo and Rich Ward. Limited tickets for the 18+ show are already available online. The band has also already set up their own Facebook page, though at the time of this posting the page has no updates.
Both Portnoy and Allen hinted in separate statements that they were working on a “straight up rock” project. Portnoy also let it slip that Adrenaline Mob will be hitting to studio soon to record material. As for when we can expect to hear the recorded material, or whether more shows will be announced in the near future is uncertain. We’ll keep you posted if more develops around this supergroup.
