Live Nation has implemented a substantial minimum wage increase for its 5,000 employees and service crew members in its club venues. The new base pay of $20 per Hour is part of Live Nation’s On the Road Again program, launched in September with support from touring legend Willie Nelson. CEO Michael Rapino emphasized the crucial role played by behind-the-scenes staff in making live shows happen and highlighted the growth potential of careers in the live music industry. The increased minimum wage exceeds the federal standard of $7.50 per Hour and aims to provide a strong starting point for those embarking on careers in live entertainment. The initiative covers various roles, including box office attendants, production crew, artist hospitality, guest services, ushers, parking attendants, cleaning crews, and sustainability coordinators. Supervisor roles will start at $25 per Hour with opportunities for career advancement. Live Nation’s commitment to supporting artists includes travel bonuses for headline and support acts and zero fees on band merchandise sold at participating venues, extending through 2024.
