Regardless of genre or artist, music is music and keeps people connected. Metallica, one of the biggest bands out there in metal, have recently welcomed a wave of new fans following their song, “Master of Puppets,” being featured in the Stranger Things season four finale. Instead of making wisecrack jokes such as “where have you been?” the group reminded us that we’ve all started at “ground zero” before discovering music fresh to any listener’s ears. On TikTok, the band shared a clip of them performing “Master of Puppets,” asking if anyone had heard any “cool songs” lately. On their channel, the group continued to comment on the following:
“FYI – EVERYONE is welcome in the Metallica Family. Whether you’ve been a fan for 40 hours or 40 years, we all share a bond through music. All of you started at ground zero at one point in time. \m/“
Guitarist Kirk Hammett has also addressed “Master of Puppets” featured in the show, praising his bandmate Rob Trujillo’s son, Tye, on his guitar efforts recorded for the episode. Hammett shared a photo of him and Tye on his Instagram with the following caption:
“Very proud of my little bro Tye Trujillo who pulled off the lead to Master of Puppets for the Netflix show Stranger Things – and he’s not a guitar player but a bass player just like his pop !!! Impressive !!!!! Photo📸by @chloetrujillo 🙌 @strangerthingstv @metallica”
