Megadeth have issued a statement addressing accusations against bassist David Ellefson involving “adult interactions” with a woman other than his wife. Footage of Ellefson leaked online over the weekend, revealing self-intimate adult activities being shared. In addition to the shared footage, allegations have escalated as he is now being accused of grooming an underage woman. Ellefson has admitted to the “adult interactions.” However, he has denied the claims of the woman being groomed and underage. The bassist also shared a statement from the woman in question, expressing the exchange the two had were consensual and she “was always a consenting adult.”
Megadeth issued the following statement:
“We are aware of the recent statements regarding David Ellefson, and are watching developments closely. As it relates to creativity and business, we are all familiar with one another. However, there are clearly aspects of David’s private life that he has kept to himself. As this situation unfolds, it is important that all voices be heard clearly and respectfully. We look forward to the truth coming to light.“
David Ellefson has since changed his Instagram to private and restricted the commenting on his Facebook page.
