It had been known for a while now that bands like As I Lay Dying, The Dillinger Escape Plan, iwrestledabearonce, Winds Of Plague, The Acacia Strain and more had recorded covers for the video game Homefront’s soundtrack. We just didn’t know when it was coming out or what songs each band was covering…until now.
The track listing for Homefront: Songs For Resistance has been revealed today. The soundtrack features bands tackling songs from bands like Black Sabbath, Slayer and Metallica to even a few oddball choices such as Muse, Bob Dylan, and Buffalo Springfield. While The Dillinger Escape Plan let it leak that they were covering Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power” by performing the song at Homefront’s promotional event, the announcement reveals that Chuck D. himself made an appearance on DEP’s cover.
As if these odd ball covers weren’t enough to intrigue you into obtaining the soundtrack, Homefront is giving it away as 25,000 free promotional digital copies (on a first come/first serve basis)! Go to the game soundtrack’s website now to obtain your free download now before copies run out. You can also check out the track listing to Homefront: Songs For Resistance below.
