Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Absence of Despair frontman Joe Reynolds as he’s been spending this time working on new music and staying active on Twitch.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve basically been doing tons of yard work. Planted a bunch of stuff, we built a patio. My girlfriend and I have been doing work. I have also had a lot of time to write some new tunes and learn some new production things for the future. I’ve been actively streaming on twitch.tv/ssj666joe talking about touring, music, and of course gaming. With what’s going on in the world I’ve been trying my best to stay active. Oh eating…I’ve been eating a lot and dinner gets earlier everyday!

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I have been listening to a lot of Bad Wolves, Alpha Wolf and a bunch of other animals too but definitely not as much as I would like.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

 Sausages

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

We have been crushing Netflix literally everything there is. Right now we are deep into I Shouldn’t Be Alive, that’s on Amazon Prime tho.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Stay safe, stay distant. Don’t give up hope we will be rocking shows and hanging out soon! Keep in touch on social media, we will be sharing new things soon!
