New Jersey hardcore outfit On Sight are gearing up for the release of their new album, Cause of Pain, which will be released on April 24th via Unbeaten Records (pre-order here). We caught up with the group and asked what their Top 5 favorite New Jersey metal and hardcore albums are.
Overkill, Years of Decay
Overkills one of the bands that I used to listen to a lot growing up and first getting into metal. I’m huge into thrash and younger me that’s all I would listen to so I chose their album Years of Decay. The riffs were super catchy paired with Bobby Blitz’s catchy lyrics are just so good. Also, the bass tone on that album is super in your face. I love a good bass tone. Between Blitz’s raspy vocals and neverending riffs, you can’t go wrong. ~ Doug Maxwell (Guitar)
Suburban Scum, Ultimate Annihilation
Even though it’s one of their last records, in my opinion, it’s their best. Between the ass beating drum tone to sick riffs, Ultimate Annihilation is a killer album all the way through. Senses Fail, Let It Enfold You
Senses Fail is one of those bands for me that represents an era in time that changed my life. Watching them come up from playing churches and small shows to big tours inspired me. At the time, 2004-2006 in New Jersey was like living in a never-ending Warped Tour. Let it Enfold You is one album (as well as many others) that influenced me to play music in a band as a youngster and forever changed the course of my life. ~ Edgar Lucero (Bass)
The Banner, Frailty
I’ve probably listened to that album a thousand times on the road with Knuckle Up. It reminds me of tour life and all the shows I went to before I played in a band. ~ Dante Santiago (Guitar)
E Town Concrete, The Renaissance
This was the album that my friend showed me back around my first job ever. The first track I listened to was Mandibles. It was unreal to me and just like that, I was hooked. I saw them at Bamboozle some years back and never forgot how insanely good their drummer was. Definitely a band to listen to if you haven’t. ~ Darren Carreon (Drums)
