Anathema were forced to head home a little bit early from their European Tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. The group are currently looking into rescheduling the cancelled shows to sometime this fall.
Read full statement below:
“Dear all,
Anathema and their management have tried everything to keep the current We’re Here Because We’re Here tour on the road but have just faced four cancellations due to government rulings over the COVID-19 virus, which leaves them no choice but to head home after yesterday’s show in Lisbon, Portugal. We are waiting to see the outcome of Prognosis Festival and our German dates.
We are currently looking at rescheduling the cancelled shows to September where there is availability and we’ll keep everyone closely informed of any news. Current tickets will be honoured for the new dates.
As with so many of their affected peers, this situation has a huge negative financial impact on the band and your continuous support would be hugely appreciated by purchasing the leftover tour merch stock from the webstore once this has been returned to the warehouse, most likely sometime next week.
While the band are gutted to be going home, obviously public health is paramount. Please take every necessary step to protect yourself and others from this virus.
Stay safe everyone.
~ Northern Music Co, Anathema management ~”
