Former David Lee Roth guitarist Bart Walsh has passed away. The 56-year-old died of natural causes/gastrointestinal bleed and dehydration on Saturday (2nd). Bart was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

John Corabi (Ex-Motley Crue/Dead Daisies) has issued the following heartfelt message:

“R.I.P. Bart Walsh ….A great guy, talented guitar player, and always beyond helpful when I worked at Gibson Guitars…I hope you’re happy playing guitar up there buddy!!!! You’ll be missed…”

Walsh was the original guitarist for the Van Halen tribute band The Atomic Punks, which featured frontman Ralph Saenz who is now known as Steel Panther’s Michael Starr. Walsh later joined Van Halen’s David Lee Roth on lead guitar during his 1999 world tour. Walsh worked on a number of projects most known for hard rock including Bret Michels. However, he grew up under the tutelage of Country Music Hall of Famer, Cecil Campbell. Bart later worked for Gibson Guitars for several years.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Bart’s friends and family during this difficult time.
