It’s been a week of uncertainty as Metallica have been relatively quiet since they announced postponing their Australian and New Zealand tour due to James Hetfield re-entering treatment. We’re still shocked on this news. The group had an incredible performance roughly twenty days prior at their S&M2 concert, which we will soon see again in theaters next week for one-night only. However, this shows how difficult it is to tell when someone is struggling. The metal community continues to show their support for Hetfield as we’ve seen artists such as Kirk Hammett, Jamey Jasta, Randy Blythe, and more share a heartfelt message.

And now, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has penned a note via social media to his friend:

“My best out to James Hetfield. You’ve done the right thing seeking help – I’m thinking of you my friend and wishing you all the very best on your recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back at your best very soon.

Your pal

Tony”

Drummer Lars Ulrich shared the following message via Instagram:

Thinking about my brother. ….sending love.”
