After five years, Marilyn Manson drummer Gil Sharone has decided to leave the band. His leave seems amicable as he expressed his decision is because it’s time for him to “pursue other current and future projects.” Sharone worked on Manson’s latest effort, 2017’s Heaven Upside Down as well as 2015’s The Pale Emperor. Manson has-yet-to respond. However, it wasn’t too long ago when he said he was heading to the studio to finish recording his new album.

Read Sharone’s statement below:

After five amazing years playing drums for @marilynmanson, I’ve decided to leave the band. It’s been one of the highlights of my career but it’s time for me to pursue other current and future projects. Much love to @marilynmanson and the homies I shared the stage with; @jeordie @tylerbatesofficial @paulwileymm @j_alderete and to the fans. It’s been a blast.

Hopefully, we will find out who Sharone’s replacement is before Manson’s tour with Rob Zombie this summer as the two plan to cover another song for the upcoming trek.
