While the future of AC/DC has been up in the air since September of 2016, it looks like there’s a possibility of not only the band continuing on, but with vocalist Brian Johnson back in the fold. The unlikely source of this still unconfirmed reunion comes from grindcore band Terrorizer, who posted the following on their Facebook page:

We ran into Brian Johnson from ACDC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumors of him being on the new ACDC album and he said “Yes” and that he is ” Sick of denying it”.

The last half decade has been an unstable and uncertain one for AC/DC. Back in 2014, the band’s 16th studio album, Rock or Bust, was released, and while cofounding guitarist Malcolm Young cowrote the album’s 10 songs, he didn’t appear on it, as he was in the early stages of a struggle with dementia. Then, midway through a tour in support of the album, Johnson was unceremoniously yanked from the tour and told that he risked total hearing loss if he continued playing with the band. Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose gamely finished out the band’s tour dates, and following the end of the tour, bassist Cliff Williams announced he was retiring from the band, leaving Angus Young the only original member. With Malcolm no longer alive to help write songs, it had been a question as to whether they would continue and if so, who would front the band. It’s important to point out that there hasn’t been any official confirmation from the AC/DC or Brian Johnson camp, so this should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being.
