Behemoth continued their domination of the global metal scene with another breathtaking performance in Reading, PA on June 4th, 2018 as part of the final Slayer tour. With an impressive lineup and a jam packed, completely sold out arena, each band was clearly bringing their A game.

Though limited to six songs, Poland’s masters of extremity had the capacity crowd on their feet. Nergal, per usual, worked the crowd into a frenzy with his incredible stage presence and his clear admiration for the passionate audience. A number of times he came out off the stage and onto the front speaker cabinets in order to be as close as possible to the fans.  While many were there to catch a final glimpse of Slayer, Behemoth undoubtedly gained many new fans who were seeing the band for the very first time.

The band opened with “Ov Fire and Void” and closed with the stirring “O Father O Satan O Son” from the groundbreaking Satanist album. They also gave fans a taste of their forthcoming new record with the new song, “Wolves of Siberia.”

Behemoth is one of those bands that just continues to get better and better and Nergal has become even more endearing and more wise as he’s gotten older. It’s difficult to find a stronger band in extreme metal today and I’m counting the days to their next release.

Setlist:

“Ov Fire and the Void”

“Demigod”

“Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer”

“Wolves ov Siberia”

“Chant for Eschaton 2000”

“O Father O Satan O Sun!”
