Metallica paid a tribute to late Celtic Frost bassist Martin Eric Ain last night (11th) during their show at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. Ain sadly passed away last October after suffering from a heart attack. Following the group’s performance of the song “Halo on Fire” from their latest effort 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, Kirk Hammett (guitar) and Robert Trujillo (bass) ripped into a solo and opened it up with “Procreation of the Wicked” taken from the classic album 1984’s Morbid Tales. Trujillo introduced the tune with:

“Tonight we pay tribute to the Swiss band Celtic Frost, and this is in memory of Mr. Martin Eric Ain, bass player extraordinaire. This song is called ‘Procreation…’ You know the rest. Sing it with me or headbang like it’s 1984.”
