Vixen vocalist Janet Gardner has undergone emergency surgery last Friday (12) to remove a subdural hematoma, which is a collection of blood outside the brain. This ailment is typically caused by severe head injuries yet, it is unclear how the singer received it. Gardner was rushed to the hospital after her solo performance with her band at the Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, CA, and now has a titanium plate in her head!

She shared the following statement:

“I wanted to take a moment, and catch everyone up on the last few, very eventful days.

First, I would like to thank everyone who came out to our show in Los Angeles, at the Whisky a GoGo, on Thursday. We had a wonderful time, and the crowd was amazing!

Unfortunately, on Friday, things turned a little upside down on us. I was rushed off to the hospital, and had to have emergency surgery to remove a subdural hematoma that was putting pressure on my brain. They had to drill a hole into my head to remove the hematoma and put a titanium plate in to cover the hole.
I am literally a metal head!

I apologize for having to cancel the Vamp’d show last night. We will be rescheduling that soon. I will keep you posted on my recovery.
Thank you for all the love and support!💜”

Gardner has premiered the brand new music video “Candle” taken from her self-titled debut studio effort, which was released last summer.

She explained:

As many of you who follow our pages may know, Justin and I recently finished shooting our latest video. It was planned to be released, and promoted over

the next couple of weeks.

This song is deeply personal to me. It is about a very difficult time in my life, the passing of my parents. I wanted to be their Candle, and get them through that moment.

Now at another very difficult moment in my life, so many of you have deeply touched me with your wonderful thoughts, prayers, and support.

We wanted to post this video for all of you.

Thank you all so much for being my Candle.”

Check out the video below and we wish Gardner a healthy recovery:
