Metallica’s latest effort Hardwired…To Self-Destruct has placed at the #1 spot on Billboard’s year-end 2017 selling charts for the top 50 Hard Rock Albums along with the band being placed at #1 on their top 10 Hard Rock Album Artists. Despite their tenth studio album being released back in November, 2016, it did move 1.1 million units this year along with being certified platinum this past spring. This could have everything to do with how they bundled the LP with their ticket packages, and we know their North American tour was massive.

Speaking of Metallica, their 1991 self-titled aka Black album was placed on Billboard’s charts as well at number 2 on their top 50 Hard Rock Albums charts after shifting 268,000 units this year. Additionally, if you scroll down the same list, you will see more Metallica with 1988’s …And Justice For All at 14, and 1986’s Master of Puppets ranking at 16.

Other artists include Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, AC/DC, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Mastodon, Starset, Nothing More, KoRn, In This Moment, Marilyn Manson, and more.
