It’s hasn’t really been that long since North Carolina’s Corrosion of Conformity released an album. Back in 2014, they released IX, a scant two years after their self-titled eighth album that marked the band’s return to their Technocracy era. However, it has been a long time, 2005 to be exact, since  they released an album with Pepper Keenan on vocals. Keenan took a hiatus from the band, but returned to tour with the band in 2015. Keenan’s tenure in the band, which began in 1991, saw them reach their commercial peak with the release of 1994’s Deliverance. It also saw the band adapt a more southern rock, stoner style in favor of the near-hardcore sound of their earlier albums. Keenan’s been using his sludge/stoner riffs in Down more recently, but the announcement that he’d be writing  a new album with C.O.C. was met with enthusiasm by the band’s fans. Now it appears that the new album will be out pretty soon, according to a Facebook post the band sent out:

In short, yes. Yes we all are. Yes we want to hear it. And it looks we will pretty soon. The as-yet-untitled album will be their first on Nuclear Blast, and look for info coming on it sooner than later.
